Newquay Cornwall Airport is pleased to announce that a direct service to Birmingham will operate as part of Flybe’s summer 2014 schedule.  The service will commence on the 16th May 2014 with flights operating 7 days a week throughout the summer months.  The introduction of this route is key to support inbound tourism to the South West and will allow passengers from the Midlands to travel to the county quickly and efficiently.

This new route will also benefit both the leisure and business passenger from Cornwall as Birmingham is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city, ideal for short breaks as well as business.  Onward connectivity from Birmingham will also become easier with Flybe’s route network and access to their airline partners who offer links to destinations worldwide.

Al Titterington, Managing Director, Newquay Cornwall Airport commented “Flybe’s summer schedule already operates to Edinburgh, Belfast City and Newcastle as well as London Gatwick and Manchester and this new service is a boost for the Airport and Cornish residents.  The possibility of flying further afield to places like Dubai will also become more convenient with Birmingham Airport giving access to Emirates’ worldwide network. The airport is continually looking to improve accessibility to and from Cornwall and the new Birmingham service will ultimately boost the economy by encouraging visitors”.

Tickets are now on sale with single flights starting from £23.99 and are available online and via travel agents.
