Regional Organisations in Tropical North Queensland have released their plan for a $10bn transformation of their region, with 8 key infrastructure projects and 8 key policy initiatives for both Federal and State Governments.

These organisations, that include Advance Cairns and the Cairns Chamber of Commerce have stated that the plan is not a “wish list” but a “to do list” of catalytic projects that will have economic benefit for Northern Queensland in terms of future growth and prosperity.  They will be working with State and Federal elected representatives to have these projects committed in forward budgets.

Ambitious infrastructure projects include upgrades to both the Hann Highway and the Bruce Highway, expansion of the Cairns Trinity Inlet shipping channel, investment in bulk water infrastructure and security and ensuring funding to secure sustainable health, education and national security projects.
