Wood products manufacturer Jordan Forest Products is expanding existing operations in Montgomery County, creating 31 job and investing $1.4 million during the next three years according to the Triangle Business Journal.
The additional jobs in Biscoe will allow Jordan Forest Products to begin production of wooden pallet components.
The total payroll for the 31 positions will be $740,000 plus benefits, though salaries will vary by job function, according to an announcement from the governor’s office.
“The strong work force here and our positive working relationships with both local and state government are great contributing factors to our success in continuing to create new job opportunities,” said Robert Jordan IV, vice president of operations for Jordan Forest Products.
Jordan Forest Products is an affiliate of Mount Gilead-based Jordan Lumber & Supply Inc., one of the country’s largest privately owned lumber companies.
The expansion is aided in part by a performance-based grant of $43,600 from the One North Carolina Fund, which is contingent upon receiving a local match and proof of job creation.
Jordan Lumber its subsidiaries employ 301 people in Montgomery County. It also operates a facility in Barnesville, Georgia.
