Net foreign direct investment into Kazakhstan’s economy has almost touched the $10 billion mark in the first six months of 2011 as the country has aggressively developed and implemented efficient investment policies that has helped ensure a favourable longer term business climate for investors.

Over the last five years, Kazakhstan has attracted over $137 billion in FDI, helping it to become the second-ranked country in terms of volumes of attracted investment in the Commonwealth of Independent States, trailing only Russia. It is also the fifth in Asia and 19th globally.
